Caramelized Sriracha Shrimp- Ready in minutes, minimal prep, and packed with flavor, this recipe presents itself well. To keep it simple, serve with some white rice and broccoli. Sweet, hot and spicy,
1 lb. fresh large shrimp, cleaned
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon honey
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
2 stalks celery, diced small
2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
4 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
2 scallions, chopped fine
pinch of crushed red pepper
salt and black pepper to taste
1. Combine oil, sugar and honey in a saucepan over a medium heat. Occasionally stir and allow mixture to caramelize- to an amber color (approximately 3-5 minutes).
2. Add the garlic and saute for 10 seconds more.
3. Add the shrimp and remaining ingredients, cook for 3 to 5 minutes until cooked thoroughly.
