Cranberry Sauce with a Splash of Port

We like just about any Cranberry Sauce or Relish.  Using cranberry juice and port wine makes this one of our favorites.  










One 12 ounce bag of fresh or frozen cranberries, rinsed 
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup cranberry juice (sweetened)
3 tablespoons port wine
pinch salt


1. Boil the sugar and cranberry juice together for one minute.

2. Add the cranberries and continue to boil until all the skins pop.

3.  Add the port wine and salt, boil for one more minute.

Suggestion:  Add a piece of orange rind (no white pith) to the hot finished sauce.
